We stayed here at the beginning and end of our recent trip to Vietnam and it has more positive points than it does negative. You need to first understand that it is NOT a hotel, but a serviced apartment. We booked the one bedroom apartment, not the studio. Upon arrival both times it was a bit of a mission getting in to the building as the footpath was clogged with parked motorbikes and we had to life three wheeled suitcases around them and up a ha;f flight of stairs to get into the reception area. As other reviewers have noted, English isn't a strong point but we didn't really need it as we produced the booking confirmation email and they understood perfectly what we were there for. They took photos of our passports (standard procedure in Vietnam) and issued us with an easy to remember pin code for the door (no keys or swipe cards, JOY!). The elevator is small but there's only something like 12 apartments in the building and we never had to wait long. The apartment is spacious and very well appointed with everything you could think of in it, particularly the kitchen. You could host a full on dinner party in there! I loved the full fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer and the water cooler (no plastic bottles!). There's a TV in the lounge and the bedroom and the bed was super comfortable. We didn't notice much street noise at all, and the blackout curtains are highly effective, we slept for 12 hours one night as we didn't realise it was daylight outside. The only negatives for me were all in the bathroom. It has no external windows so 3 of the 4 walls have windows that face into the bedroom/hallway/lounge. All 3 windows have pull down blinds but it's a bit of a hassle pulling them all down and up again. Also the towels and bathmats are quite old and discoloured which is not really a big deal in the scheme of things, but it does feel a bit out of step with the overall standard of the place. Lastly, the hot water in the shower took at least 5 minutes to get hot, so we'd turn the shower on and go back to bed for a bit until it heated up. The shower cubicle is very soundproof (tightly sealed as it is also a sauna if you wish to utilise it) so it was very easy to forget that it was on Location wise it's about a 20 minute walk to both the French Quarter and Old Quarter, but there are many good eating and coffee options close by. They have a very extensive menu in the room for food delivery too, if you want to dine in your apartment. I'd stay again just to have all the comforts of home.
