We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broxbourne Riverside Chalets. The waterside wooden cabin, though charmingly basic, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay; the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and obliging. We hired a canoe and explored a small section of the River Lee. You can also hire bikes and kayaks from them, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We also hired an electric boat from the nearby Lee Valley Boathire, which was more suitable for a member of our party with a bad back. The chalet we stayed in had an acces ramp. The highlight for us were the many wonderful encounters with wildlife - all the water fowl had babies! The Crown pub is 5 minutes walk away and The Fish and Eels pub is 25 minutes walk away at Dobbs Weir. They are both attractive riverside pubs well worth a visit.

We'll definitely be coming back. Ideally situated by the river (the clue's in the name!) you feel a bit as though you're in a Sylvanian family game when you come here. Although small the chalet we stayed in was really well equipped and we had a great time. There always seems to be something to watch through the windows and if the weather had been a bit warmer we'd have spent time sitting on the verandah watching the world go by.

Excellent standard of comfort and cleanliness, and very well equipped kitchen. The staff are very friendly and helpful and ask you to contact them if there is any problem at all. Excellent standard of comfort and cleanliness, and very well equipped kitchen. The staff are very friendly and helpful and ask you to contact them if there is any problem at all. The chalet is opposite a canoe and bike hire place that is very reasonably priced, and give anyone staying in the chalets a further discount. There is also a nice café across the river and the train station is only a short walk away. It is my second stay and I will definetly come back again, as it is so nice and quiet and relaxing and run so well.

Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Very close to a main trainline into London but we knew this as visiting friends having previously lived in Broxbourne. Didn't bother us. Sofa not comfortable to sit & enjoy TV. Very hard. Only other negative was the twin beds. Despite the mattress toppers, the springs in the mattresses have gone. They do need replacing. Sadly we had an uncomfortable few nights sleep!
