Here's what I have to say about this villa. It was very clean, had two bedrooms, two baths (one ensuite to the main bedroom) and was in a good location. The views of the sea and mountains were stunning. The covered veranda was nice to sit under and stargaze and listen to the very loud cicadas at night. There were a few drawbacks worth mentioning though. 1. The air conditioning situation was awful. There is a small, aged wall unit in the living room only and it barely worked. It does not deliver cool air to the bedrooms at all, making sleeping miserable. While we were there, daytime temps were hovering between 97 and 100 degrees F. To make matters worse, we'd leave the A/C on while we were out exploring in hopes it would eventually start to cool the villa down and the maid would enter and turn it off everyday, so when we'd arrive home after a long, hot day of exploring, it would feel like an oven in there. 2. The mattresses in the bedrooms were rock hard...there was no difference in those than sleeping on the tile floor. We all ended up with aches and pains from the mattresses and resorted to some sleeping on the couch (at least we were closer to a little A/C) and lastly 3. The wifi. It didnt work most of the time and/or signal was very weak. We actually found the best signal for wifi was outside near the driveway (go figure) All and all, Kythira was great, the villa has all the potential in the world if they would just upgrade those mattresses, and fix the AC and wifi situation this place would have got 5 stars from us. Also the property manager Andreas was fantastic. He ended up bringing us fans to help contend with the high heat temps because the villa was so warm.
