This was our second visit to the Avoriaz Belhambra. Brilliant ski in ski out hotel. Better than many Club Med equivalents. Ski hire just beside the boot room,couldn’t be handier. Food and drink are excellent lots of choice and loved the snacks at lunch and afternoon Apres on the lovely terrace, also loved the burger van. Yes rooms are small but I found the beds to bed comfortable as were the pillows, one lumpy one soft😊 plenty of storage in the under bed draws and in the wardrobe. Lovely seating areas, albeit bar area gets busy pre dinner. Don’t hesitate to book as in my opinion couldn’t get better.

The hotel has a perfect location, with amazing views. We received an extremely friendly welcome and from then on all staff members we came across were very friendly. The food was great and varied (and plenty of it!). We had such a great time we are looking to book again for next year. We were on the 7th floor and experienced no noise issues and our room was cleaned daily.

“Ski in ski out, hotel did exactly what we needed it to.”

We stayed at the Belambra during the epically snowy half term week. It’s genuinely ski in ski out with a good sized boot room and skiset shop on site. The entertainment staff worked incredibly hard and put on extra stuff in the afternoons due to the snowy conditions. The room was pretty small but had everything we needed. The food was fine, not top notch but we always ate well and there was always plenty, tables were always cleared promptly and there was decent wine available self service. We had a great stay, Avoriaz is a brilliant base from which to access both Morzine and Switzerland and there was plenty of skiing despite challenging conditions.

- A large alpine hotel with over hundred of rooms - ski in ski out - sceneric view from my room - facilities included a restaurant serving buffet, restaurant serving special dinner, a bar, sitting out veranda (for afternoon tea), ski rental, ski room, a gym, wellness centre with sauna, steam room and massage service - the check in process was quite hectic due to small space and very limited staff/counters at the check in desk - the standard bedroom i had stayed in is relatively small in size, and not very clean - no water boiler in the room - water supply available at the water machine at the reception, with free coffee and tea - the lighting in the room and the corridor is dim IMHO - Wide variety of food in the buffet style breakfast and dinner (i had not tried the lunch but some friends said quite good) - While the hotel itself is moderately maintained, the staff is definitely the asset. They are generally helpful and informative. A small fire actually occurred due to overheated computer server at around 6.30-7am on one day, and everyone had to evacuate and assemble at outdoor, which is around zero degree Celsius. Many clients were too rush to take sufficient clothes. The staff who were waken up offered their clothes to the needed ones despite they also had to move to outdoor. Also, when the case was settled and we returned to the room, i spotted all room doors were marked with chalk, showing that the staff did comply with the evacuation procedure and patrolled and checked all rooms cleared before they left. So the hotel, and the responsible staff, did make sure the safety of the clients.
