When my husband and I went to check in the hotel(holiday inn guelph) our date of arrival was incorrect(error on 3rd party) The Manager on duty was Ethan and associate Nirali went above and beyond making sure we were able to check in our room. We than had complications with our credit card, which was solved fast and efficiently. Nirali knew by that point I was about to break down, but she helped make me feel better about the situation. It was my husband's and my Valentine Day get away seeing as we both worked until 10pm on Valentine's Day, so when we had all the issues arise hope seemed dim for us. Thankfully Ethan and Nirali solved all the issues and even gave us a couple chocolates as away of saying happy valentine's day to us both. She said they normally don't do that, but in our case she did. Breakfast was great, our server was a gentleman and he also was amazing. Over all our stay and experience at the hotel was fantastic. Thank you very much to the staff for making our stay enjoyable.😊

Pros: Beautiful open concept hotel. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and service was perfect. Rooms were clean, the pool area was clean. Cons: They only have double beds in rooms for families, they do not have double queen beds. The bathroom was very small and no counter space to put any toiletries. We booked on Boxing Day as a special holiday get away. Thinking it would be a quieter time to book. There was a family Christmas (reunion) party going on in the room next to the lobby, and they let their children have full run of the entire hotel, they took over the elevators it took us 20 minutes to get an elevator as the kids were pressing every floor, they were running and screaming throughout the hotel we could hear it going on in our room on the 5th floor! When we were in the pool the kids lined up along the rail watching us and saying rude comments, making us feel very uncomfortable that we left we were only in the pool for 20 minutes. Then they followed us around and were asking us to buy them something from the vending machine. I told them to find their parents. The one child told us that they come every year. I am not sure why the hotel never told the parents to mind their kids instead of leaving it to the rest of the guests to deal with. We would come again just not on Boxing Day.

When in the area on business over the last year year, I find alot of out of town guests like staying here for extended periods of stay. It is just located just east of major highway and not hard to find from that very busy roadway. Reception area is professionally run as the staff friendly plus will be you booked in rather quickly. Free newspapers plus pamphlets on attractions to visit in the area. Free meals in a modern dinning area and they change the menu often so as to keep things fresh. Well maintained hotel and modern in appearance as well.

“Friendly staff, otherwise just okay”

Spent only one night here and found the staff to be friendly and courteous. The room was clean but dated and the hotel is showing it’s age. While I did not use the amenities such as the restaurant or indoor pool, it’s nice to have both options available.
