We traveled here with our 2 boys over New Year’s. Wonderful peaceful location away from the crowds in this region, access to many other even more remote islands and attractions. The staff and especially the manager were amazing and did everything right. The NYE party was fantastic and had something for everyone. The beach and property are stunning and the family rooms were comfortable for a family of 4. I’d highly recommend and would love to return. We thought it was a highlight and we’ve traveled all around the region.

“Hidden Paradise!!!”

This is a hidden gem among the various resorts that dot the Thai coastline along Krabi, Samui, Phuket etc. Easily accessible via Krabi International Airport (1.5 hr drive) this paradise is located in the scenic province of Trang having mesmerizing views and beautiful beaches. We stayed there for 6 days in a pool villa and it was worth it. You get huge living space-separate living and sleeping quarters (can accommodate 4 adults), huge pool (almost thrice the size of other plunge pools), overlooking the beach and piece de resistance - a kids club that kept our 3 year old engrossed and gave us some me time. Has 2 restaurants and limited options for vegetarians but the chef is willing to customize to your tastes. Like any resort, it’s as good as the team that manages it. Anantara has never disappointed us and this one is surely there with the rest of our great holidays with the chain. Special mention goes to Nee, who we believe is the heart of the resort (a gem!!)and pandered to our each requirement - without whom this would not have turned out to be a great holiday. Apart from this the team at beach house (Kook who helped us create new “veg” choices), chefs Rene & Khai, housekeeping team and lastly Peung & the girls at the Kids Club who gave us the free time to enjoy this place. Got to know that this resort might close due to a new ruling. Hopefully they are able to work out a compromise and keep it going as we definitely want to return to this hidden paradise

“Fantastic stay”

This resort is a must. The grounds and views are breathtaking! White sand and peaceful nature. Mangroves and huge sandy beach full of shells. Perfect idea to have herbal garden inside the resort. Adults only swimming pool and relaxing spa are just a bonus :)

The best part of our fun and relaxing stay was learning something about the surrounding environment, wildlife and people who live here. Mark Isenstadt (CSR Manager) was a fantastic guide, and the highlight of our stay was going out on a dugong spotting trip and visiting a fishing community on Libong island. If all the Anantaras showed similar enthusiasm for their surrounding ecological and human communities and had committed professionals like Mark, we would be die-hard fans. We would definitely return, ideally as a larger or family group (see below). There’s no other hotel on this stretch of coast, which touches on national park land – very rare in Thailand these days. The view out to the ocean and islands is amazing. Sunsets are glorious. The hotel has beachfront, but note it is not the tropical white sand beach for sunbathing and swimming- the islands offshore have that – but is great for walks and looking for seashells. One side of the hotel land is where the river comes out to the sea. Breakfast is a highlight – a super spread, with very diverse choice range. The hotel tries very hard to cater to and to please everyone, and is to be commended for trying to fulfil an impossible mandate. It is probably best for families and groups – and those who are tolerant of package-tours. Club Kappa (a French package tour) operates holidays here, and the divide between Kappa and non-Kappa (both staff and guests) is ever-present if you happen to be there during a Kappa Konvention as we were. We noticed more trainees interacting with guests here than at other similar hotels – this is great in principal for the industry and trainees, and as guests we are supportive, though at times the lack of experience was evident. The sea view rooms are like in the photos. This was in the quiet ‘grown up’ wing (very necessary!) of the hotel. The adult swimming pool – perfect. Peaceful, quiet and great views over lawn and out to sea. The family swimming pool is nicely laid out for fun, but has much higher traffic. Not for squeamish hypochondriacs. We stayed three nights in the pool suite, and thought that was the perfect length of time. An earlier review mentioned that there was not much privacy with the pool because you do have two balconies above you, but this wasn’t a problem for us, as they weren’t occupied, and having had a look, unless someone was intent on leaning over and looking right down, you won’t feel directly in field of view, though you’ll hear them. The trade-off for the view out to sea is that you’re in plain view of anyone walking by on the lawn – but this wasn’t a problem. Mosquitoes are a fact of life here. Repellent is provided. Lots of people taking selfies too, all the time.
